Qualifications:
- Appropriate Commercial Drivers License or are able to qualify for appropriate license
- Appropriate State of Oklahoma Certificate or able to qualify for appropriate certificate
- Physical requirements as set forth in attached Physical Job Description
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- All other related duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Transportation

Terms of Employment: 166 day contract. Salary to be determined as per ESPO Master Contract.
Job Goal: To provide safe and efficient operation of district school buses. To be done in accordance with all Federal and State laws. To be responsible for through knowledge of all district policies as they pertain to the loading, securing and general well being of their students. To ensure that the students placed in their care are afforded safe and efficient transportation.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Able to operate the bus in the event the driver is unable to do so.
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observe all Federal and State safety regulations for school bus operation.
- Enforces Federal, State and District policies with regard to bus ridership.
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
- Reports undisciplined students to proper authority, using the District approved forms.
- Keeps assigned bus clean, both inside and outside.
- Keeps to assigned schedule.
- Performs daily pre-trip inspection as required by State Department of Education.
- Notifies proper personnel for mechanical repairs.
- Discharges students on designated routes and stops only.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district activity trips.
- Transports only authorized passengers.
- Reports all accidents and completes all required reports.
- Attends all required meetings.
- Conducts one (1) emergency evacuation drill per semester as required by State Department of Education regulations.
- Interacts with Special Education staff to benefit the student.
- Participates in all training offered.
- Attends IEP meetings when requested by the Director of Transportation.
- Maintains the confidentiality of students.
- Insures that all students are properly secured and properly loaded and unloaded.
- Performs all other duties as required by the Director of Transportation.
