QUALIFICATIONS:  

  1.  Appropriate Commercial Drivers License or able to qualify for appropriate license.  
  2.  Appropriate State of Oklahoma Certificate or able to qualify for appropriate certificate.
  3. Physical requirements as set forth in attached Physical Job Description.
  4. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  5. All other related duties as deemed necessary by the Transportation Supervisor.

 

REPORTS TO:                Transportation Supervisor

 

EVALUATED BY:          Transportation Supervisor in accordance with Board Policy

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 166 day contract.  Salary to be determined as per ESPO Master Contract.

 

JOB GOAL:       To provide safe and efficient operation of the district school buses to be done in accordance with all Federal and State laws.  To be responsible for thorough knowledge of all district policies as they pertain to the loading, securing and general well being of their students.  To ensure that the students placed in their care are afforded safe and efficient transportation.

 

 

 

PERFORMANCE  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Obeys all traffic laws
  2. Observe all Federal and State safety regulations for school bus operation.
  3. Enforces Federal, State and district policies with regard to bus ridership.
  4. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
  5.  Reports undisciplined students to proper authority using the district approved forms.
  6. Must be able to operate manual, as well as automatic, school bus doors.
  7. Keeps assigned bus clean, both inside and outside.
  8. Keeps to assigned schedule.
  9. Performs daily pre-trip inspection as required by State Department of Education.
  10. Notifies proper personnel for mechanical repairs.
  11.  Discharges students on designated routes and stops only.
  12.  Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of district activity trips.
  13. Transports only authorized passengers.
  14.  Reports all accidents and completes all required reports.
  15.  Attends all required meetings.
  16.  Conducts one (1) emergency evacuation drill per semester as required by State Department of    Education regulations.
  17.  Performs all other duties as required by the Transportation Supervisor.

NOTE:  In the terms of an 8 hour workday, "Occasionally" equals 1% - 33%

            "Frequently" equals 34% - 66%, "Continuously" equals 67% - 100%

 

  1. In an eight hour workday, the employee must: (Total time may exceed 8 hours because of varied duties)
    a. Sit 6 hours or more per day
    b. Stand up to 1 or more hours per day
    c. Walk up to 1 or more hours per day

  2. Employees job requires that he/she:

    a. Bend/Stoop

    a. Being around moving machinery
    b. Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity
